Remember how the FPPC exhonerated the Placer County Republican Central Committee? Didn’t it seem odd that the Fresno and Stanislaus committee were not mentioned that much in any stories that ran all over the state until the FPPC finished their investigation?

The statewide media had help. The same person who shopped the stories about the Placer County Republican Central Committee’s non-scandal has turned his sights on Tom Hudson.

The agenda of Doug Elmets and the Sacramento Bee meet againthe template of the National Media is to Show a Divisive, mean Republican Party that clings to its’ Guns and Bibles. Elmets, because he has an axe to grind is a willing co-conspirator.

Enter Doug Elmets as Quoted by the Bee:

“I would not want to be in a position of debating him on any issue,” said Doug Elmets, a local political consultant who is not on the committee. “It would be exhausting. And no matter how right you think you are, he would declare victory.”

Elmets said Hudson should be careful not to let his passion get in the way.

“Sometimes those who are the most passionate lose their objectivity and ultimately become more controversial than constructive,” he said.

It is refreshing to see Doug Elmets come out of the shadows – It was Principle that carried the day for Tom McClintock in 2008 and it will be principle that will carry the day for Rick Keene in 2010. The significance of seeing Doug Elmets quoted in these articles is borne by what the reporter omitted:

Elmets’ main client is the United Auburn Indian Tribe. (The Auburn Tribe is viewed as amongst the most anti-Republican in the state) Doug Elmets is also active in re-assembling the same endorsement list for Doug LaMalfa that Liberal Millionaire Former Congressman Doug Ose had in 2008.

Now that Elmets is out in the open – let’s point out the absurdities of his friends in the Bee:

Hudson is not the only one that thinks Meg Whitman is a Democrat. (She campaigned for Boxer in 2004, gave wads to Enviro Groups, Supports Benefits for Non-Citizens, Supports Taxpayer Funded Abortion, etc…)

Peter Hill and Jim Holmes both have a history of supporting tax and fee increases which they were rightly criticized for. This fact is deliberately omitted by the Bee in their numerous stories attempting to portray Peter Hill and would-be Congressman Jim Holmes as victims.

The Placer Cent Com was a top performer in the dismal 2008 election cycle for registrations and because of technicalities had to wait until after the election was over to receive the bounty check from the California GOP.

There will be no attempt as the Bee alleges to unseat Tom Hudson – in fact, the criticism has only served to validate his leadership.

The Central Committee’s endorsement of Tom McClintock was a stunning counter-weight to the local electeds who rallied behind Liberal Millionaire Former Congressman Doug Ose in 2008.

And therein lies the rub.

Scary, isn’t it.

The left-wing media hates the Placer County Republican Central Committee. They had Tom Hudson in leg irons and an Orange jumpsuit before the FPPC came in and said, “We have no evidence” (bureaucrat speak for you did nothing wrong).

Like the Chris Beckman “whistle-blowing” against Robert Weygandt and Kirk Uhler – there is no there, there.

Now Jim Ruffalo has it on good authority that Tom Husdon is on the outs and there is a Lynch Mob forming.

Quotting Ruffalo: “In fact, we’re reliably told that several high-power Republicans are starting to lean on Hudson.

Really? Who? Assemblymembers? Congressman McClintock? That would be news to me, Hudson or George Park(s) my Brother and First Vice-Chair of the Central Committee. (Note the spelling please, Jim)

It’s probably just coincidence, but Hudson’s Facebook site — which had been open to one and all for viewing in order to see just how high-powered his “friends” are — now is restricted to viewing. And the California Republican Assembly Web site, which had listed Hudson in several places, now has grayed-out the spots where his name once was able to be viewed.

Aside from Ruffalo’s cheap shot over the security settings on his personal Facebook account, Tom Hudson is a regional Vice-Chairman for the California Republican Party itself. The By-Laws and customary traditions when you hold CRP office dictate you minimize your affiliations with groups whose membership are a subset.

Had Ruffalo done some research, he’d have spelled George’s name correctly and known about the CRP By-Laws and its’ affect on volunteer club titles.

I am looking for some honesty and journalistic integrity here – we all know the FPPC story was pushed from one end of the state to the other by disgruntled consultants. However, was this column more about the annoyance that the Central Committee was exhonerated and has over $43,000 in the bank?

AJ editor Deric Rothe was treated far better by the criminal justice system and he is a convicted felon for Pete’s sake!

P.S. On a personal note, Ruffalo goes on to suggest that Hudson will resign and George Parks will take over – read:

But I won’t be surprised if he steps down as chair, remains on the executive board and has somebody such as George Parks assume the chairmanship.

Of course, if that happens, look for Hudson’s lips to move whenever the new chairman speaks. …

Anyone that knows George Park knows he is no one’s sock puppet. Mr. Ruffalo needs to use more than Auburn electeds / Political club members as his sources.

That’s right – Tom Hudson has engineered the largest fundraiser in the history of the Placer County Republican Central Committee. We get to keep all $32,400 of the money given to us by Assemblyman Joel Anderson

In a letter received just this afternoon – the FPPC has exhonerated the Placer County Republican Central Committee.

An article posted in the San Digeo Union Tribune earlier today said that the Central Committees of Placer and Stanislaus would be exhonerated – but this blogger waited until the actual proof was in hand before posting.

I am wondering how those that promoted this story to the local media in an attempt to discredit the Central Committee are feeling now – not referencing those quoted in the articles. I have detailed how some of the local electeds (Jim Holmes, Peter Hill) who have run afoul of the Committee were all to eager to give quotes to the media -

Meantime – Tom Hudson looks like a genius because the Central Committee now has $32,400 to spend on the 2010 cycle.

I think the Placer Central Committee might consider endorsing Joel Anderson for Senate should he run ;-)

P.S. according to the Union Tribune – the Fresno Cent Com and Anderson’s campaign are going to get fined.
