And Boxer is PO’ed because Carly wrote herself a check for campaign money? This is the same desperation of Jerry Brown who is whining about Meg Whitman’s money.

Problem one – Jerry Brown’s house is not exactly a 2000 square foot suburban home .

Problem two – while Boxer is confiding in her shrink at CBS about how troubled she is over Fiorina’s wealth…

Her California Team consists of

California Congresswoman Jane Harman – number 3 on the list.

The aforementioned Senator Dianne Feinstein – number 9 on the list.

Nancy Pelosi – number 23 on the list.

Here’s what happens when you toss bricks in glass houses – you find that the strong majority (28-22) on the top 50 list are DEMOCRATS. (With 8 of the top 10)

Boxer. What a hypocrite. She has 5 times most people’s annual income in the bank and she’s whining about someone’s hard-earned money.

God Bless Dave Cox. A good man and someone who let it fly on the floor of the legislature with some of the most memorable quotes ever.

With his passing – there has been a flurry of rumors as to who is going to run to replace him.

1. Roger Niello – the choice of the deceased Senator. Cox wrote Niello a $7800 check literally the day he died. Niello followed Cox up the ladder from Supervisor to Assembly and you’d assume that Cox had the 1st Senate district drawn for himself and also for his protege’ Niello. Rumor also has it that Doug Ose – who goes back 20+ years with Roger Niello is going to throw his considerable weight behind Niello.

Niello’s Achilles heel? He voted for the Feb 2009 budget with the largest tax increase in state history.

2. Ted Gaines – like Niello had a State Senate Campaign account open, with $500K in it already. Gaines is a Conservative who made the right endorsements from a Conservative perspective.

Gaines’ Achilles heel? There is a perception in insider circles that Gaines is distant and controlled by his staff. This perception started when Gaines made an abortive run for Congress in late 2007 after only having been in the Assembly for about 6-8 months.

Ted Gaines has also never run a competitive race. However, Doug LaMalfa had never run a competitive race and he smoked Rick Keene who outspent him… Gaines has the same political consultant that LaMalfa does.

3. Dan Logue – the proponent of Prop 23 whose Assembly District overlaps the 1st Senate district to the north of Ted Gaines Assembly District.

Dan Logue is the absolute WildCard. The notariety that he is getting and will be getting from going head-on against Arnold and the global warming cult should boost him substantially.

Dan Logue carries none of the baggage that either Ted Gaines or Roger Niello bring to the table. Dan Logue can also raise money – but can he raise enough to compete with the Niello establishment and the $500K head start of Ted Gaines?

Other names are being rumored – only because this is a special election with a different dynamic.

Right now – if I were Ted Gaines and Roger Niello, I would be on the phone trying to convince Dan Logue not to run.

As for this blogger – the headache of the 2010 cycle continues.

Politico’s article said that Carly has Boxer on the ropes.

I predict that Boxer is going to have to start burning her money very soon…

What exactly did Politico’s article have to say?

Boxer campaign manager Rose Kapolczynski pointed to the Field result in a fundraising appeal over the weekend, calling the race a virtual tie – “Dead heat. Tossup. Neck and neck.”

“If anyone was taking our victory for granted — well, this news should be a wake-up call. We don’t have a vote or a moment to spare,” Kapolcynski wrote. “I’m going to tell it to you straight: we’re under 50 percent of the vote and our opponent is at our heels.”

(Blogger’s note – Translation, we are going to have to shred Carly if we are going to have a chance.)

Fiorina has consistently placed within a few points of Boxer since winning the Republican Senate nomination by 34 points on June 8. The day after the primary, a Rasmussen poll showed Fiorina down five. Later that month, an Ipsos survey for Reuters placed her four points back.

That makes Boxer’s campaign among the most competitive races that’s consistently polled – a category that also includes tossup contests in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Let’s see – Goes from Down 5 to up two in 6 weeks? By election day, Boxer will be down 35. Works for me.

If you’re a political junkie then you heard today about Survey USA – the automated polling outfit that has the race at 47 Carly – 45 Lt Col Boxer.

A previous Poll – the Field Poll had the race at Boxer +3 last week.

This is why it sucks to be Barbara Boxer.

Five Presidential Bailout missions have Boxer with $17million in the bank. Democrats can take some comfort in that – until:

Angry Voters who vote to screw incumbents regardless of merit are on the rampage in this election cycle. Boxer is the incumbent.

Recovery summer – let’s see Barbara Boxer and Joe Biden jump on the backs of small business owners and starts strangling them while saying out loud “We have your best interest at heart!”

I wish Joe Biden would spend some of his personal fortune to buy a place out here so he could campaign full-time for these losers.
